West Coast Shores’ individual guest suites provide your perfect west coast getaway, located at #13 & #20 Perlemoen Close in Jacobsbaai. As we don’t offer a whole-house rental, guests enjoy relaxing in their private suites and eating out at the local restaurants.

Our immediate area is known as Moerie-se-Baai, which has the most beautiful and secluded bay in Jacobsbaai. #20 is on the bay, and the original guesthouse at #13 is just one row back from the beach.

Perlemoen Close is a very quiet cul-de-sac with a walkway providing pedestrian access to the bay right next to #20. This means that the furthest suite at #13 is still less than a 2-minute stroll to the beach.  Locals and visitors wander along the ‘Close and on the footpath around all the bays.

The full service BraaiKamer at #20 is available to guests at a nominal rate and has a stunning view of the bay and sunsets.  It opens onto a wooden deck and lush green lawn in front of Moerie-se-Baai and has shutters for protection from rain or wind when needed.

We also welcome friends travelling together, couples of all ages, small families with babies, children or teens, and multi-generational families for both short and long stays – so anyone needing to enjoy the tranquillity and wanting to either explore or just relax.

FOODIE FACILITIES

Eat out – Most of our guests are Foodies who enjoy exploring our many local and neighbouring restaurants.   The two restaurants in Jacobsbaai offer great menus for sit down or takeaways; and being in the centre of the Cape West Coast Foodie Trail we’ll gladly offer additional restaurant recommendations and do bookings if requested.

Units with kitchenettes – For those that prefer some independence with their catering, we recommend booking a suite with a convenience kitchenette. These kitchenettes all include an under-counter fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, sink, cutlery, crockery and glassware.  They are not full self-catering units as they do not have hobs or ovens. Other suites only have tea/coffee making facilities.

Braai Facility – Due to the prevailing breezes and thatch roofs, we only allow braai’s in our protected braaikamer.  Subject to availability, guests are very welcome to book this full service awesome “BraaiKamer OppieBaai” at an additional nominal cost to cover setting up, wood, use of braai equipment, crockery, cutlery, glassware, and cleaning afterwards. We recommend an evening braai between 5pm and 9pm to fully enjoy the spectacular sunsets and tranquillity.

By special arrangement, we can provide light brekkies in-suite or at the Braaikamer.

 IMPORTANT INFO

  • Please note – although Jacobsbaai has a superette, a deli and few great restaurants, it has no fuel station or banking facilities.
  • Nearest towns are Vredenburg and Saldanha (both about 15km away).
  • You will need your own transport – there is no public transport or Uber.
  • As there are no communal kitchen or lounge facilities, our suites are unsuitable for large groups requiring self-catering.
  • We do not cater for loud or large groups.
  • Please request a special quote for seniors, and for tiny breeds of dogs with well-behaved owners.

Your hosts are Roz & Ben Havenga who live on the premises at #20, and who love meeting guests and making you comfortable and appreciated.

Ben is a petrol-head and fellow motor enthusiasts will love his collection of racing cars and other memorabilia.

They openly share their love for the west coast – with personal recommendations for restaurants and local “must-sees”.
