When West Coast Shores was built; it was envisioned as a sanctuary. Our guest suites are a reflection of our love for Jacobsbaai—a tiny village where the Atlantic meets a slower, more meaningful way of life.
West Coast Shores Guest Suites are located at two properties in Perlemoen Close in Jacobsbaai. The immediate area is known as Moeriesbaai, the most beautiful and secluded sixth bay in Jacobsbaai.
Perlemoen Close is a very quiet cul-de-sac with a cobbled walkway providing pedestrian access to the bay. The furthest suite at WCS-GS is less than a 2 minute stroll to the beach. Locals and visitors wander along the ‘Close and on the meandering footpath around all the bays.

Units with Butlers’ Galleys – Guests seeking some catering independence can book suites with a Butlers Galley, which offer an under-counter fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, sink, and basic utensils. These units aren’t fully self-catering as they lack hobs or ovens. Other suites offer only tea and coffee facilities.
Braai Facility on Request – Due to the prevailing breezes and thatch roofs, we only allow braai’s in our protected Braaikamer On-The-Bay. This beautiful venue has a stunning view of the ‘Bay and sunsets. It opens onto a wooden deck and lush green lawn overlooking Moeriesbaai and has shutters for protection from rain or wind when needed.
We offer a full-service braai experience to our guests at a nominal rate in this Braaikamer. Subject to availability, guests are very welcome to book this venue at an additional cash rate to cover venue hire, set up, wood & starters, use of basic braai equipment, crockery, cutlery, glassware, crystal ice, and cleaning afterwards. Maximum 8 guests.
We recommend an evening braai between 5pm and 9pm to fully enjoy the spectacular sunsets and golden hour.

Your resident hosts are Roz & Ben Havenga who love meeting guests and ensuring their comfort and appreciation
Ben is a petrol-head and fellow motor enthusiasts will love his collection of racing cars and other memorabilia. Roz has lived many lives and loves connecting people and finding unexplored potential.
They openly share their love for the west coast – with personal recommendations for restaurants and local “must-sees”.

FAQs
Is there fuel available in Jacobsbaai?
Unfortunately not. Jacobsbaai has a superette, a deli and few great restaurants, it has no fuel station nor banking facilities.
Nearest Fuel is Vredenburg or Saldanha – both 15km away.
Do you allow parties?
Definitely not. Jacobsbaai is a quiet, tranquil village. We do not allow any parties or cater for loud or large groups, and quiet time is 21h00 to 08h00.
Do you do whole house lets?
Unfortunately not. West Coast Shores Guest Suites has no common communal kitchen or lounges and is unsuitable as a whole house let.
We encourage our guests to support the local restaurants for their catering needs.
Do you do group bookings?
On occasion, West Coast Shores Guest Suites will make special arrangements for groups. This must be discussed directly with your hosts.
Do you provide fully self catering units?
No – none of our units are fully self catering. While some may have Butler’s Galleys, these are designed for convenience and snacks and do not have fully equipped kitchens.
Are you pet friendly?
On occasion we may accept small dogs with well behaved owners. We require a photo of the dog and will charge a fee. Not all units are suited for pets and accommodating your request will depend on availability. Additional T&Cs may apply.
Do you do pensioners discounts?
Yes – we have a permanent Senior’s Special where Over Sixty’s stay 4 nights and pay for 3 from Monday to Thursday (not Peak Season). This is not extended to family under sixty.
Is there Public Transport?
Not really. There are various operators running shuttles from the Cape Town International Airport or Cape Town Bus Station, and there are long distance taxis to Vredenburg. However, once in Jacobsbaai you have a problem as there’s not much within regular walking distance. You really do need your own transport here. Europcar operates a car-hire depot in Saldanha for one-way trips to the airport or day car hires.
Where are your commercial centres?
- Jacobsbaai is only 15 km from both Vredenburg and Saldanha, providing easy access to:
- Shopping malls, big name retailers & chain stores, take-aways & drive-throughs,
- Fuel stations, banks,
- Hospitals (Life West Coast Private and Government) and other medical support
- Industrial areas in Vredenburg for bulk buying and building needs.
- Touristy life /vibes are found in Paternoster and Langebaan – each about 30 mins drive.
